Ep 18 | The Passion and Persistence Behind Ethan The Fox’s Creation feat. Stephen Cummins
Stephen joins me to share his experience of creating Ethan The Fox, an eco-friendly teething toy. Stephen shares how and why he came up with the idea for Ethan The Fox, the journey travelled from concept to distribution, the highs when people first saw the product and the lows when his business failed due to a big client going bankrupt who owed him loads of money. Stephen shares how he navigated this stage in life, the impact it was having on his mental health, his relationship with his wife and his living arrangements. This is a very honest conversation and is the first time this is being shared publicly.
I hope you enjoy the conversation and are encouraged to know you are not alone in your struggles and even though it may seem like a setback at the moment it doesn't mean this can't be a setup for something greater.

A bit more about Stephen:
I’m a proud father to Fern and Art, happy husband to Sarah, and co-founder and designer of the multi-award-winning Ethan the fox teething toy.
Whilst staying with family in Australia in 2016 our daughter Fern discovered a teddy fox in the family home we were staying in. She constantly played with it and loved and adored it. Sarah’s young nephew – whose fox it was – saw how much she loved it and gave it to Fern for keeps. It was this teddy Fox that served as the inspiration for a Fox teething toy.
When it came to giving the Fox a name, it seemed only appropriate we named it after Sarah’s nephew “Ethan”.
It’s been a journey full of twists and turns, and ups and downs.
We’re really proud of Ethan, and he really does feel like part of the family as he’s been there from the beginning with my kids, but it’s about time he paid his way.
